1. Safety valve maintenance should be carried out by a local authorised inspection body.

2. Keep the valve clean. Prevent oil, dirt, ice or rust from seizing the body or the spring, keep the discharge pipe clear of oil and foreign matter in winter, and prevent water from collecting and freezing inside.

3. If a safety valve leaks, replace or repair it promptly. Never try to stop the leak by increasing the load, for example by compressing the spring further.
